Vintage and Antique paintings make for wonderful gifts as they offer something that many modern gifts cannot: history, character, individuality and a sense of permanence. They are not simply decorative objects but they can become meaningful pieces of someone's home, personal story and family history.
Their beauty is also that they offer lasting enjoyment without needing to be expensive. You do not need a famous artist or a museum quality antique. An affordable, charming painting with an interesting subject can be just as rewarding to live with. Its appeal can lie in its atmosphere, craftsmanship, age or simply the pleasure it brings.
In all, the secret to them being great gifts are that they combine three things that are rarely found together in one present: aesthetic, emotional and historical value so something beautiful to look at, chosen specifically for someone and that existed before the gift was given and may continue to exist long afterwards!
