Whilst similar to gold plating gold vermeil is distinctly different to it. Gold vermeil originated in the 19th century where gold was applied to sterling silver. Although still using the plating technique gold vermeil requires a thicker layer. At least 2.5 microns of gold.
Stamped 925 silver as this is the base metal with gold vermeil, this was bought as a collection of jewellery with some pieces signed and others not. See my other listings.
